le besoin croissant de logement et le desir dameliorer la qualite, la securite et la durabilite des batiments, et de diminuer leur prix de revient, ont necessite des recherches etendues dans le domaine des materiaux de la construction. le beton silico-calcaire peut etre considere comme une des reussites remarquables de ces recherches. / le beton silico-calcaire est obtenu par l*acceleation de la reaction lente des materiux silico-calcaires a* 1 'aide de la chaleur, de humidite et de la pression en autoclave. les matieres premieres utilisees pour la fabrication du beton silico-calcaire sont la chaux et des sables siliceux. selon le procede de fabrication, le beton silico-calcaire peut etre structure dense ou cellulaire a masse volu-mique de 350 a 2400 kg/m et sa resistance peut varier de 15 a 1000 kg/cm . le beton silico-calcaire peut avantageusement remplacer le beton du ciment ordinaire, sauf pour le betonage in- situ, et son emploie aboutit a une reduction de 10 a 35% de prix de revient selon le cas.
